C'mon, Michigan is the Great Lakes State...

So while I'm glad at least one Michigan is being honored in this new national ranking, seems like there should be a lot more.

I get that ranking the most beautiful lakes in the country is a super tough task. As the travel publication that took it on, Loveexploring.com, points out: The U.S. has around 480,000 lakes in the lower 48 states. And this blew my mind -- Alaska claims to have a whopping three million lakes!

So yes, Michigan has far fewer than that with shoreline on four of the five great lakes and more than 11,000 inland lakes... but still.

If I had to pick just one Mitten State lake as the most stunning, I'd go with Lake Michigan. I was lucky enough to grow up on it, so I'm biased.

However, Loveexpoloring's experts had another pick for the Michigan lake ranked among the 25 most beautiful in the country...
