What Is The Curse of Bobby Lane?
Bobby Layne played for the Detroit Lions from 1950 to 1958, leading the team to three NFL Championships.
His departure from the Lions came as a shock, especially since he was part of a successful team.
Reportedly, as he was leaving the Lions' locker room, Layne expressed his frustration by declaring that "the Detroit Lions will not win another championship for another 50 years".

Jeff Daniels and Peyton Manning Lift The Curse of Bobby Lane
In an attempt to address this curse, actor Jeff Daniels and former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning collaborated on an episode of Manning's show, Peyton's Places, in 2022.
During this segment, they staged a ceremony at Ford Field, where they attempted to lift the curse.
The ceremony involved bringing several symbolic items: Layne's helmet, Tobin's Spirit Guide from Ghostbusters, and a tub filled with whiskey (instead of water) and salt.
Daniels also recited an "incantation" as part of this ritual.
