Jason Cochran has become an overnight millionaire after winning a $1 million prize from Elon Musk's America PAC.

Cochran signed an online petition supporting the First and Second Amendments as part of Musk's initiative to encourage voter registration among swing state voters.

Does This Contest Violate Voting Laws?

The Department of Justice (DOJ) recently warned Musk that the sweepstakes could potentially violate federal laws prohibiting payments for voter registration or voting incentives.

Legal experts have raised concerns that this type of financial giveaway could be interpreted as a method to incentivize individuals to register and vote for specific candidates, particularly given Musk's support for former President Donald Trump.
