Where is the Best Hot Chocolate in Grand Rapids?

It's cold. Winter will be here before we know it. What can you do to make a cozy, delicious and memorable winter?

Simple! Have a steamy cup of hot chocolate!

Ahhh, a cup of hot cocoa this time of year sounds wonderful. It's a rich and delicious way to take the sting out of the cold.

But, where can you truly find the best in Grand Rapids? After all, there is quality hot chocolate, and then just hot water with some chocolate flavoring in it. Ick!

The ratings are in for 2025 and the top five winners, according to YELP reviews, are:

#1.  MOKAYA

On Wealthy Street in the Eastown neighborhood, this sweet delight location is a place people rave about. "You walk into Mokaya and instantly feel like you are at Willy Wonka's chocolate factory." Another review said: "Everything they make is beautiful. You'll almost bemad when you find out that everything tastes better than it looks."

#2.  STICKY FINGERS

They are on Lake Drive in the Eastown neighborhood, and are a fan favorite. Reviewers are raving! "Absolutely love this store! Once you walk in the door it's like you're transported to a fun colorful paradise!" "Talk about your childhood wishes!! Sticky Fingers turns our collective cultural memory of the ultimate candy shop into reality right in Eastown."

#3.  SUGAR BAR SIPS & SWEETS

This shop in in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, on Monroe Center, and is a delight. Customers are saying: "If you're looking for a dessert that doubles as a showstopper, this is it!" "What a delightful little French Patisserie. The macarons are fabulous, not to mention the hot chocolate!"

#4.  HOT CHOCOLATE BLISS

According to Yelp, this hot chocolate business in Wyoming, offers over 35 varieties of delicious, gourmet hot chocolate. They ranked as a favorite, but I'm having trouble locating them.

#5. LE BON MACARON

They are located on Cherry Street in the East Hills neighborhood and are treating everyone with some of the best macarons this side of Paris. Reviewers have said: "I just adore Le Bon Macaron! Their macarons are delicious, and are a wonderful self treat or gift." "I have never liked macarons until I bought them from here and now I'll never get them from anywhere else! The hot chocolate is amazing."

Grand Rapids and West Michigan, is blessed with some very special "sweet" places. I'm voting for trying them all!
