HOLD UP! Will It Actually Be 100 Degrees Next Week In Grand Rapids?
When it comes to the weather, the first place you may check is your Apple weather app.
However, you may not want to do that after I tell you this situation.
Apple Weather app, count your days!
Crazy Hot Weather In Grand Rapids
With all of the heat advisories and warnings that we received last week, you would think we would get a chance to relax from the heat.
According to Apple Weather, we are not! We have officially entered the Earth's core!
When I check my Apple Weather app, it says that next Wednesday, September 6, 2023, it will be 100 degrees!
If you do not believe me, check the screenshot for proof.
However, I am extremely confused because when I check The Weather Channel's 10-day forecast, I get a much different story.
As of the publish date, The Weather Channel says that it will only be 88 degrees on Wednesday.
That is a much more doable temperature!
Is Apple weather accurate?
Before I start completely pointing the finger and raging out on the Apple Weather app, apparently it is not completely their fault.
Well, at least that's what Slash Gear says.
In iPhone's case, it mostly pulls from The Weather Channel for North America. According to a report from Forecast Watch that tracked weather accuracy from 2017 through 2020, The Weather Channel was found to have the most accurate reporting of any national meteorological survey. But it also aggregates data from other sources, too, so the data it presents may not always match up with what you'd find in the actual Weather Channel app.
So before you go off of the forecast on your iPhone, check the National Weather Service or The Weather Channel first.
